FAQ

What are the FACEPLNT events about?

The FACEPLNT events are meant to be fun and informative social gatherings focusing on tropical and unusual houseplants. One of the aims is to raise funds to contribute to important causes that help protect the native habitats of our beloved “houseplants”, such as areas in South and Central America, Asia, and others.

However, our main aim is to give plant lovers an opportunity to meet other houseplant enthusiasts and build connections in real life as the houseplant community has primarily existed online since its big boom in 2020.

Who can sell plants at the FACEPLNT events?

At the FACEPLNT events, we invite plant shops and swappers to sell their plants.

Can I swap plants at the FACEPLNT events?

Yes! True to the typical BST (buy, sell, trade) groups on Facebook, our events are organized as BST such, meaning that you can buy plants from sellers that pop up at the event, and swap plants with swappers who bring their plants for trading.

How do swaps work?

Our swappers book tables to display their plants and bring plants that they’d like to offer for swaps. It is completely up to the swappers to determine who they want to swap with and what for. Swappers are also allowed to sell their plants at these events, however the transaction must take place at the event. We do not encourage any future promises of swaps and/or payments.

What kind of plants can I bring to sell or swap?

All houseplants are welcome! In any case, your plants should be healthy and free of pests. The size and age of the plant does not matter either. Fresh cuttings should be labeled as such, and rooted cuttings should be either in a substrate or with their roots wrapped in moist paper towels. Please do not bring cuttings in water – we want to avoid spillage and potential slip hazards!

As a swapper, can I also swap/sell plant accessories?

Absolutely! Whether you make macrame hangers, plant pots, or you make your own soil mixes, feel free to also offer your creations. We only ask you to please make sure they are houseplant related.

What if nobody wants my plants?

An unwanted plant? Unheard of! But if there are no takers for your plant, you can place your plant on the Donation table. Here, event visitors can take what they like and “pay” in the form of a small donation. That way, your plant still finds a new home and helps support the cause that our event donates its proceedings to.

How can I buy plants from Ecuagenera?

Option 1: Order online and pick up on the day

If you desire a certain plant and want to ensure you get it, we advise you to preorder your plants on the ecuagenera.com website. When checking out, choose “pick up” in Prague as the “delivery” option. You will pay for your plants at the checkout and simply come to our event to pick up your new green babies.

Option 2: Buy plants at the event

Ecuagenera will also bring hundreds of houseplants that you will be able to purchase on the spot. However, beware that Ecuagenera events are extremely popular, and their plants sell out quickly. We recommend arriving at the event sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Do I have to buy a ticket if I just want to collect my Ecuagenera order?

No, you do not. However, be sure to bring an order confirmation email or something to be able to prove to us that you are coming to pick up your order.

If you don’t place an order beforehand and want to buy plants from Ecuagenera in person, you will have to purchase a ticket.

What other things besides buying plants can I look forward to at the event?

Meet & greet: As well as the chance to buy/swap plants, there will be a designated area to sit down, have a drink, and get to know other plant lovers.

Q&A bar: our meet & greet table will also serve as a place to ask any questions you might have about plants, whether that is care, light requirements, or why a certain plant you have is dying.

The raffle: our visitors will get a chance to win houseplants, such as our main prize, which is a beautiful Monstera Thai Constellation.

What is the raffle about?

The raffle is an opportunity for our visitors to win houseplants. With each ticket purchase, everyone is automatically allocated two raffle tickets but you may purchase additional tickets for 50Kč apiece for a better chance to win. Our main prize is a beautiful Monstera Thai Constellation, but if you want to see all the prizes available, check out our social media channels.

The money raised from sold raffle tickets will go towards the charitable cause visitors have voted on.

Do I have to be at the event to win a prize in the raffle?

Yes, you do. At the event, you will show your purchase confirmation and you will get to pull tickets from the tombola and will know immediately if you won.

Which causes do you donate to?

Each FACEPLNT event donates its proceeds to a specific cause that the community votes on beforehand.

What is the difference between a SWAPPER and a VISITOR ticket?

As a SWAPPER, you can book a table to display your plants and exchange plants with other swappers. You can also swap with visitors or sell your plants to them. We ask you to bring at least 12 plants but are happy to discuss your plant selection and address any questions. Please use our contact form to get in touch.

With a VISITOR ticket, you may bring up to three plants to swap and you can buy plants from the shops exhibiting or from the swappers.

Will I be able to purchase tickets on the spot?

In the case that tickets do not sell out before the day of the event, you will be able to purchase tickets at the door. However, this only applies to VISITOR tickets as SWAPPER tickets must be pre-purchased.

I bought a ticket but can't make it to the event. Can I get a refund?

Tickets are not refundable. But you can pass your ticket on to a friend.

What should I bring with me to the event?

Definitely bring some cash with you as swappers will not be able to accept card payments.

Is the venue accessibility friendly?

Unfortunately, our Prague event is not wheelchair accessible but we promise to do better next time.
